Subland Drill

Subland drills are two separate drills within the same drill having separate flutes for chip evacuation. These drills are problem solvers in drill chamfer or drill counter-bore applications, where chip clogging is a severe problem. For eg: In holes with less working depth( <1D), where there is insufficient space for chips of the pilot drill and chamfer(or counter-bore) diameter.

In such cases, the subland drill works more efficiently than a step drill(refer Step Drill page) as it eliminates chip clogging and gives more re-grinds. In fact, when step length is < 3 mm, it is impossible to regrind a step drill efficiently.

In applications where there are cross holes, inclined entry or exit holes “Double Margins” are provided on the subland drill for greater stability. The additional margins will give maximum support and guidance to provide more accurate size.

In Aayudh subland drills, all the drill points are optimized for the material.
